Last week I saw a meme that said "When you are over 30, your group chat after a girls night consist of 'here’s that recipe we talked about' or 'heres the link to the how to keep your plants alive longer’ blog I mentioned" - and I've never felt more seen. Quietly, that’s actually how I got the recipe to one of my favorite meals…but I digress. It’s that magical age when life takes a delightful turn, and you find yourself getting giddy (or anxious) over the most unexpected things.
Because it doesn't stop there. There’s a certain satisfaction that comes with owning a home and keeping it tidy. Suddenly, you find yourself glaring out the window at anyone who dares to park in front of your house, even though you’ve got a perfectly good driveway. I mean, how dare they! Ha! I used to be the free-spirited one, unconcerned about parking shenanigans - I mean I was probably that person people were complaining about. Now? I might as well be the neighborhood watch captain, ready to file a complaint over misplaced vehicles.
While I still get excited about scoring concert tickets or planning a spontaneous weekend getaway, now, I can’t help but also get thrilled over the perfect set of sheets or the fluffiest hand towels. Seriously, what’s more exhilarating than finally finding that blender that promises to make your smoothies as smooth as your skin care routine?
